Application of industry 4.0 technologies in manufacturing supply chain optimization

Abstract:
This study examines the utilization of Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance supply chain efficiency in Bangladesh's industrial industry. The research specifically examines the implementation of IoT, AI, and cloud computing, and their influence on enhancing critical supply chain KPIs, including inventory management, demand forecasting, manufacturing performance, and cost effectiveness. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 400 people who worked for different manufacturing companies in Bangladesh. This was done using a quantitative research approach. The results show that using Industry 4.0 technologies has greatly improved supply chain visibility, operational efficiency, and cost savings. However, high implementation costs, a shortage of experienced workers, and a lack of digital infrastructure were all seen as key obstacles to wider adoption, especially for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). The study suggests that putting money into training, digital infrastructure, and financial incentives can speed up the use of new technologies and improve supply chain performance even more. The findings of this study provide significant insights for policymakers and industry leaders aiming to utilize Industry 4.0 technology to enhance competitiveness in Bangladesh's manufacturing sector.
