Abstract:
This paper investigates how IoT, and big data can contribute to advancing smart tourism for pollution control and minimizing health risks in Bangladesh. It also concentrates on the potential of these applications to access and control environmental parameters, such as air and water quality, for improving health risks in tourism. The research takes the form of a mixed methods heuristic which involves recruiting the thoughts of multiple actors, tourists; local residents; tourism professionals and policy makers in qualitative as well as quantitative formats. And here we are in an age of IoT, where everyone’s talking about Big Data and yet you have barriers like no infrastructure availability, deployment is expensive, governance and what not. It is also noted in my paper that IoT and Big Data can boost the tourism industry of Bangladesh where sustainability has already become one of the major promises and challenges. The paper ends by offering recommendations on how to tackle these challenges, calling for further cooperation among the government bodies, private sector, and local communities as well as coherent policies and capacity building.
